Leatherback Sea Turtles are located in the Pacific, Adlantic and Indian Oceans, but they come to the Pacific Ocean near Canada and America to forage for food.
The Leatherbacks population is between 15,730 to 41,373.

Description of Species:

  • Leatherbacks shells are like leather (hence the name) and hard.
  • They sleep underwater from 4-7 hours, they first mature of 16 then they live to be at least 30.
  • Leatherback turtles are carnivors meaning they eat only meat, their diet consists of jellyfish, mollusks, fish, squid, sea urchins and other marine creatures
  • Leatherback turtles can be up to 250-700 kilograms as an adult (600-1500lb)
